Bcsketball Favorites Are Announced by WHS Teams100% Continvous Filament NylonCarpetCOMPLETELY INSTALLEDNO CASH NEEDED MONTHS TO PAYBigValueWHS boys and girls basketball teams announced their choice for Basketball Sweetheart and Beau Friday night atthe Whites bo ro-Wolfe Citygame.Captains, Kenneth Case and Butch Tamplen, presented a bouquet of red and white roses to Miss Glenda Dunnam, Basketball Sweetheart for 1965.The girls captains, Ruby Reedy and Tommie Riddle, then presented a plaque to Butch Tamplen, 1965 Basketball Beau.Miss Dunnam a defensive standout for the Bearkettes, has participated in basketball since junior high and has been on the starting lineup of the A girls since her sophomore year.Glenda sets a good example ior other team members with ler friendliness and sportsmanship. She has done much o encourage team members snd offer assistance when needed.Glenda participates in manyother activities. She is a member and officer of both the Future Homemakers of America and Hi-Li club.Butch Tamplen, Whites-boro’s scoring whiz, has lived basketball for many years. He has been a starting player since his freshman year.Although Butch possesses amazing skill, he also possesses that something which a great basketball player must have—a genuine loveof the sport.Butch also can be noted forhis excellent teamwork andspirit. He has been a constant repeater on the honorroll this year.His accomplishments provethat a person can maintain excellent grades while participating in sports.Miss Dui.nam is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Dunnam, and he is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Houston Tamplen.
