t--COACHES WANT ZONE ABOLISHED-24-Second Rule Is FavoredNEW YORK (UP)—A majority of 42 college coaches polled by the United Press favor some form of professional basketball's 24-second rule for next season, if the zone defense is abolished.Ten favor outright adoption of the pros' 24-second rule to prevent stalling, 11 advocate passage of the rule with certain modifications, while 15 expressed opposition. Six did not offer a definite commitmentThe coaches could not agree upon any clear-cut proposal that might reduce fouling, althoughmost were against the present “bonus rule.
