KID” ABEL OUTPOINTED.Mowatt Won Decision Over Him In Si* Round Bout at Chicago.The six round boxing bout Tuesday uight at Chicago between Tommy Mnwatt and “Kid” Abel, which furnished the windup at the Ninth Ward Giard's show, resulted in the former being declared the winner ou pointsAbel is pretty well know in Monmouth and his friends here hoped he would win.The Tribune gave the following account of the fight th's morning as furnished them bv George Siler.“Abel put up a gallant battle, but with the exception of the first round he did not have a look in. In the first session he scored repea’edly with left hooks and awkward right hand swings, but his blows lacked force.“Tommy dug in at the call of time for the second round and handed out a number of hard bjdy blows, which look some of the steam but none of the fight out of the ‘K;d. The last four periods were full of rallies and fierce fighting. Iviowatt had illj punch and U6ed it to good advantage. His best blows were right hand uppercuts and left hooks, and he sent enough of those to stop the ‘Kid,’ who took them without wincing and always came back for more.“He did excellent work in some of the exchanges, aud several time had Tommy guessing. Mowatt tried for a kio bout in tie final session, but did not succeed.”
