•Philo Stays On Top In League RaceHost Philo stayed unbeaten in Muskingum Valley League girls basketball Saturday with a 49-34 win- over River View .while John Glenn downed host Tri-Valley 34-26 and Maysville rolled to a 67-39 victory over visiting Morgan in other league contests.Debbie Staley scored 21 points and Cmdy Abel 20 to pace the Philo win while Judy Uher collected 15 points and hauled down 25 rebounds for River View, 2-5 in the league. Raver View won the reserve game 20-15John Glenn gained an 8-1 -overall record as Liia Van Reeth soarked the victory with IS points and Jana Montague added 10. Jerri Border scored nine points for Tri-Valley and Jackie Randall added six.Nancy Hutchison led John Glenn on the boards with H rebounds while Jerri Broder had 19 rebounds for Tn-Valley and Ellen Howard added 14. Tri-Valtev won the reserve game 31-23 as Denise Denman and Robin Daniel each had seven points for the winners.Tn-Valley's varsity league mark is now 1-5Maysville. leading only 23-22 at the halftime, outscored Morgan 44-17 but connecting on20 o? 35 action shots.Wanda Williamson lea Maysville with 23 points and 15 rebounds while Darlene Williams had 19 points and 13 rebounds and Lynne Young added 13 points. Cinda Westfallcollected 16 points and 20 rebounds for Morgan.Carmen Yahn clinched a 21-18 reserve win for Maysville with a basket in the last minute while Cindy Quimby led the scoring with eight points.Mavsville varsitv is riow 4-2 ir« the league and the reserve team is 3-3 Both Morgan varsity and reserve are 0-6 in MVL and 0-7 overall.
