Butler was awarded the consolation trophy and Henry the sportsmanship plaque. IThe high light of Saturday games was C the hard fought encounter between Gar- a den City and Henry. Both teams were | P« tournament favorites and Henry was out to even up two previous defeats of the 1 Viseason, losing by one point in each case. 1 trThe score was close throughout al- tl though Garden City managed to keep in ir the lead. The Henry Owls threatened to j fttie the score in the second hSfif but failed to close the gap. The game ended 23 to P26 for Garden City. 1-The final game between Garden City n and Florence proved to be a most excit- b ing contest. Florence took the lead at ft the start and held it until a few minutes h before the half ended when the Green ' Dragons managed to forge ahead with a ™ *core of 10-12. Both teams showed real championship form and it was a battle h from start to finish. Florence again took slt; the lead in the third quarter piling up a w four point lead, the score being 16-20. Plt; Both teams battled to the finish and a n real brand of basketball was displayed, it The final whistle found Florence in thelead with a score of 27-24.Tne game between Florence and Lily si was very much one sided, Florence tak- Ing the lead from the start and keeping nr well in the lead throughout. The game was rather tame, after the contest be- fc tween Garden City and Henry preceding y it. The game ended with Florence lead-ing by a score of 35 to 10. r;The fast Butler aggregation swamped uthe Raymond five early in the game and e; soon piled up a large' score. \ feature of n the game was the usual fighting spirit of the losers, who were always in the midst yt of the fray despite the disheartening lead st of the victors.
