FANS GIVEN DOUBLE BARGAIN WHEN M'SHAIN LICKED TWICEStratton Wins Main Event, And Referee Bill Cazzell Adds Extra Punches; Other Bouts Are DrawsTorture Temple customers last night got double value lor their money when Danny McShain was beaten by both Walter Stratton, his opponent, and Bill Cazzell, the referee. , 'It was in all likelihood the last winter season appearance here of Gentleman Dan, although Cazzell, after the bout, was offering to meet the Hollywood Irishman on a winner-take-all basis next week. Mc-Shain, overdue in the North, isn’t likely to accept. ?Stratton, the strong boy, won the main event by taking two fails out of three. Danny, displeased, would have vented his wrath on the referee. but Cazzell quickly proved that he could defend himself, so quickly that McShain made an apologetic withdrawal. Biil took over the arbitrating after the first ball in which Egghead Pern’ had been whiling but too light for the task. The relief umpire scored a hit with the fans, but the showing was a bit expensive to himself, for one of the blows he bounced off the McShain chin broke a knuckle.First Fall to DanAttended by the usual eye gouging and below the belt work, McShain nabbed the opening fall w?ith his stamping hammer lock. Danny tried to take the second session by choking Stratton. He was pulled off and reprimanded by the referee. McShain refused to heed the admonition, and leapt back with* clawing thumbs and lingers at the throat of his victim. He was removed this time more rudely, Walter was lifted to his feet and his hand raised in victory. That, incidentally, wasabout the only real refereeing seen here since Hector was a pup.Stratton won the next fall on his own merits. He alternated flying mares and forearm licks to the head, applied a whirling full Nelson, and pinned the adversary for the count.Other numbers on the program were draws. Bill Cazzell and Bob Castle in the semi-windup each took a fall. It was a nifty match. Cazzell won his fall in 12 minutes with a rolling head scissors. Six or seven minutes later Castle blocked a rolling head scissors, and downed Bill with what he described as a stepover head lock. The last section of their 30 minute limit bout was reeled off without a fall.Dr. Eddie Mueller did the lullaby act in the preliminary on Gene Blackley, who succumbed to the sleep hold in ten and a half minutes.
