Denman sets PiaceSAULTSTE MARIE, Mich i AP) — Michigan contestants topped the field of 54 qualifiers for Saturday's International 50U snowmobile race Gene Denman of Acme set Tuesday's pace with an average speed of 7? 71 miles per hour aboard his Yamaha Buddy Webber of Sault Ste Marie, winner of last year’s race, was second in the qualifying.Others among the top five qualifiers were Randy Dewitt of Rudyard, Ken Hunt of I^an-sing, and Francis Mayer, also of Rudyard Dana W'iltse of Standish, w inner of this year's Traverse City 250 race, qualified 14th Dave Yarhouse of Everett, w inner of the Thunder Bay 250 at Alpena, was the 34th to qualify.
