The Indians of the ’31 grid season have had a very successful year, and have great hopes for the coming season. Out of the thirteen letter men, ten will remain over for the coming year. The thirteen letter men are: Hurchel (“Big Boy”) Williams (captain), Henry Fenoglio, Matt Howard, Glyn Hearn. Ernest Haralson, Virgil Wall, Howell Wall, Kenneth Rice, Austin Ball, Loyce Price, Sam Hill (captain-elect), Raymond Perryman and Johny Elkins. Of these, Williams, Perryman, Elkins, Hill, \ Price, H. The Indians won five and tied one out of a total of twelve games played.Garrison and Zachary will be eligible for sweaters for this year’s work when their scholastic standing is increased.7.Nocona Defeats Bowie for Second Straight.The Indians won their second consecutive victory over the Bowie quintet last Friday night by a close score of 29 to 31. It was a thriller throughout the game.At the end of the game the score was tied, 29 all. This called for an extra period which lasted three minutes. The Indians broke loose and let out a big war whoop and Wall slapped the basket for the two points. The Jackrabbits still think they have a better team than the Indians. So they are coming over Thursday night for a practice game. This game ended the Class A championship with Nocona the winner.V. Wall, Fenoglio and Haralson turned in fine games for Nocona,while Raleigh, Knightstep and Overstreet starred for Bowie.Saturday night the Indians were victorious again over the Draughon Business College of Wichita Falls. The Indians got a slow start, but after they set their pace they didn’t slow down until the final whistle. Fenoglio, V. Wall and Haralson turned in mighty good games. Fenoglio was hlgh-point man with 19, V. Wall next with 18, and H. Wall was next with 12. Van Hooser and Holtzer turned in good games for the business college, with Hooser making 9 points and Holtzer 8.Nocona will play the winner of the Class B tournament for the county championship next week.Prairie Point Defeats Nocona.The boys and girls went to Prairie Point Saturday night and played ball. The games were very interesting. The boys’ score was 19-21, and the girls' 27-32, Prairie Point winning both games.
