!TIFF DENTON IN NATIONALTHREE CUSHION CONTESTTiff Denton, who spent his youth in«»Harrison, and the holder of the national three-cushion billiard championship in 1923, has been' selected by this season’s tournament committee as one of ten prominent billiardists to com pete in a tournament for the national championship at three-cushion billiards, to be held in the Recital hall Auditorium building, Chicago commencing January 33, and ending Feb. 14, 1927. Denton will represent Kansas City.Each of the ten players is subject to an entrance fee of $iS0. The Brunswick Balke-Collender company contributes $3,000 so that the total purse is $5,000. The net gate receipts will be prorated among the winners.A championship emblem will be awarded, the holder to he subject to challenge every sixty days, June, July and August excepted. Match stakes are to he $250 a side. In addition, the player lidding the championship is to receive a salary of $250 per month while in possession of the title.
