Junior Hockey League, said Monday that McLean has been asked to act as a consultant and spokesman for Tier Two leagues in Manitoba, Saskatchewan. Alberta and B.C.“We’re concerned about drafting of players by the NHL with no reimbursement back to amateur hockey,” said Page in a prepared statement. “It's also apparent to us that players are enticed to U.S. colleges by NHL scouts to circumvent payment.Page said a meeting of representatives of the four leagues was held recently in Calgary and further meetings with McLean are planned.McLean was not available for comment at his suburban Coquitlam home.
