Ed Hill, Ted Juraschek and Beefy Wagner of the Magnolia quintet were placed on the T. A. A. F. all-state first team.The local Y. M. c. A. Triangles i won the State Y title in a meet here.Barbera's Sports dominated girls'I, , basket ball with a city champion-skip victory. The Sports with the H and h Coffee sextet went to the state meet in Port Worth but were eliminated in the first round. Euna Mae fteinhard of Barbera's was named all-state guard for the second straight year.EAGLES FINISH STRONG.nis, captured the state hign school singles crown in the Austin meet.In the Texas intersectional tourney oe the San Antonio Country club courts, in June, Wilbur Hess of Port Worth, Rice institute star, defeated San Antonio's Jesse Pfeiffer m the finale for the menis title. Anna Mae Reichert, won the women’s tingles, Laverne Stages and Alva Mae Craig won the women's doubles, John Hickman and* David Hickey won the boys' doubles, T/ils Campbell won the girls' singles, Roy Velinder won the boys' singles, and Quinn Connelly and Wilbur Hess, both of Fort Worth, won the men's doubles.In the city tennis meet held on Uie club courts during October, Jesse Pfeiffer was crowned men's singles champ, Eunice Dean took the women's singles title, Roy Ve-linder. won the boys' singles title and Billy Byrd bested junior singles competition.
