Late Moose Rally BeatsMonmouth VFW 70-54Independent ball at its best took place on the Sacred Heart floor last night when the Moose nettelt;l 31 points in the last quarter to down the Monmouth VFW outfit 70 to 54.Going into the last period the Monmouth team had the edge Mi to but the Moosefive composed of Freesineicr, Delaney, Zimmerman, Hatala and Auge found the last burst of energy to win by 10 tallies.Hob Fr^eseineir continued tolead the Moose in the razzledazzle style of ball and swished the net in the south end of the hall for 10 field goals ardone freethrow in the l«st half.The local Lodge team went into the second quarter supporting a 15 to 12 lead, but Lovdahl found the hoop for the visitors along with Knox and the Monmouth team led 29 to 27 at thehalf.Undoubtedly this was the bestindependent game played in thislocality in the last tw0 years.Both teams showed the kind of passing that made it hard for the eyes to follow the hall to the delight of a good-sized group of spectators. Bob Delaney sparkled in the passing department for his mates and broke awav from Monmouth players to fake shots, but the ball ended up in the hands of one of his teammates who got a setup.LovdnblLovdahl, the Monmouth forward, seldom missed and sent shot after shot in anywhere be* tween the quarter and the basket. English, the tall center,scored 14 points for Monmouth and touched the rim on one setup.Freeameier led the scorerswith 26 points as the result of accurate shooting around the basket.
