Colorado running hack Chris Brown, who has not played for more than a month due to a bruised sternum, will play against Wisconsin on Saturday at the Ala mo Bowl, coach Gary Barnett said.Barnett said Brown hasn’ttaken any contact since returning to practice last week, but he was expected to participatein contact drills this week.“He feels good. We’verun him everyday, and he’s really responded well,” Barnett said. ‘‘It doesn't look like it’s been six weeks sinc‘8 he’s played”It was good news for the Buffaloes because tail tack Bobby Purify was ruled out of the game due to a high anklesprain suffered during the victory at Nebraska on Nov. 29. Purify participated in a few plays during the Big 12 Cham pionship game a week later, but did not carry' the ball.Purify’s season ends with 739yards on 132 carries and three touch downs.Brown, who ran for 1,744 yards and 18 touchdowns before he was sidelined, went full speed Monday afternoon.‘‘It brings an uplift,” runningbacks coach Eric Bieniemy said. ‘‘Obviously Chris brings a different dimension to the belli game.
