I suppose the police powers would cover such a case.JOHNSON TO SUMMER WITH ARISTOCRATSNegro Pugilist Builds Club and Horns at Lake Geneva—Chicago Society Disturbed.Chicago, Dec. 23.—The purchase of a summer home and model farm by Jack Johnson, the negro heavyweight pugilist, In the exclusive millionaire colony of Lake Geneva, Is to be followed by the establishment of a negro club there, It was announced today.A number of acres at the north end of the lake, In one of the most deslr- ] able portions of the colony, which Is known as the Newport of the West. were secured by option on Dec. 17. It 1 was stated today by W. W. Anderson, a negro attorney formerly one of ' Johnson's counsel. Anderson said he would close the deal tomorrow. 1The property will be owned by a i syndicate of ten negroes, men associated for the establishment of a club, which will be known as the Lincoln Social Athletic club. «It will be a nice, orderly and respectable place, Anderson said today.I do not understand why there Is so much talk about the purchase. lt;Anderson said the property would not be sold and that the club would be established there.
