Maluvius was appointed director of racing and wall becomeone of the stewards, representing he track.Mevers went to work in the racing secretary's office for the firsmeeting at Santa Anita. He be came an official at Del Mar i 1938. After World Warr II he adde io his affiliations the racing sec mtaryship at Pomona. During th war he .served in the Pacific anlt;Asifatic with the Marines.Mevers has served as an officialat a number of tracks. He becameracing secretary at Caliente in 1954 on a full-time basis exceptfor time out during the summers io assist Maluvius at Hoi I v woodPark. He quit the south-of-the-border track last summer.
