FCA ................................53PCCS..............................51For the third time this season, and by a combined margin of only seven points, Panama City Christian School fell to Fellowship Christian Academy. Two of those defeats came Saturday in the inaugural Eagle Classic Christmas Tournament, which the host school won with a 53-51 title-game victory over the Crusaders. With 51 seconds remaining in the final, PCCS took a 51-50 lead on Juan Acaron’s three-point play. After an Eagle miss, the Crusaders got the rebound and had a chance to put the game away. But Fellowship’s Isiah Jackson forced a turnover, drove and scored the winning basket while being fouled. He converted the three-point play. PCCS’ Alex Caster missed 3-pointer at the buzzer. The win improved the unbeaten Eagles to 15-0. The Crusaders are 6-5. Byron Rosier paced the Eagles with 18 points. Tavaras Reed had 12 points and 14 rebounds and Kenny Holmes added 10 points. Fellowship hosts Tall Pines on Jan. 4. Earlier, Reed rebounded a missed free throw and scored the winner as the Eagles nipped the Crusaders 61-60 in an overtime thriller that featured seven ties and eight lead changes. The victory put Fellowship in the final. In a losers’ bracket game, the Crusaders, led by Zacari Pope’s 24 points, topped Jubilee Christian (10-5) 65-62.
