A Shawnee, Ohio, special to the Ohio State Journal says: Articles hare b-en signed for a 20-round bout between Jack Scanlon of Pittsburg, and Red Connelly of Newark, at Shawnee. Friday evening, Dec. 29. The Shawnee Athletic club has offered a $200 purse for a meeting between Buck Stelzer of Columbus, and Jack Scanlon of Pittsburg. Jake Hart, Stelzer's manager, refuses the offer and claims the purse is not large enough. 'Buck fights ar Newark for considerable less than this amount, which fact leads his Shawnee _ friends to believe that not only is he i afraid to meeet Scanlon, but that as a j fighter he is composed of about tha same material as John Jenkins of Springfield.
