Arundel Alumni BumpsA strong Arundel High. alumniFlorida Southern, scored c ninebasketball team, six members of which arc currently playing on college basketball teams, had too much strength for the Wildcats* varsity Thursday night and handed the undergraduates a 59*35 defeat.Francis Murphy, now playing at Baltimore University, topped the U graduates who saw action by scoring 15 points. Joe Tischer, who among with Tom McAuliffc is playing at Towson, was next with 10 tallies.The varsity, which lost its first three games this year to stretch its losing streak to 21 straight over a two season period, had no players in double figures.Tomy Vann being high with eight markers.The alumni jumped into a 1(5-8 lead at the end of the first period and led at all the quarter! Totals i points.Frank Wheat, nowpoints-and played a fine all-around game for the grads.Jim Dunagan, former basketball coach at Arundel and now the school’s vice-principal, piloted the Alumni team.The Wildcats varsity will return to action on Tuesday, Jan.7 with a home game -againstFrederick.
