Diale was not able to answer the bell for the second round, in just one of the 10 exciting fights as teams from Kalispell, Kimberly, B.C., and Poison squared off in the ring.Nau came into the ring at 176 pounds giving five poundsto the heavier Diale of Poison, at 181. Both Nau and Diale jabbed for the first minute of the first round and then Nau cut loose with scores of combinations, finally dropping Diale just as the bell sounded. Diale was not able to meet the second round bell as he was still. to groggy from the terrific fight, thrown by Nau.Nau was awarded the “Best Fighter” trophy for his ring action.Kalispell fighters had an excellent night in the ring as they won all seven bouts they fought in- Poison fighters walked off with one victory. There was no decision.Bud Olson, 153, Kalispell, scored a technical knockout over Rennie Coshan of Kimberly, 154, as Coshan could noi make it for the third round Olson and Coshan mixed it up evenly in the first round but Olson came out for the second and kept Coshan away with a stiff jab and finally put the counter on with a right-left combination to the jaw.Gay land Olson, 160, Kalispell took a split decision from Jim Quinlin, 162, Poison with judges Cochran and RyddI giving Olson the nod while Hale saw it in favor of Quinlin. Oison had Quinlin on the canvas twice in the first round as he caught Quinlin coming off the ropes with smashing blows to the jaw. Bergerman and Sheppard went to town at the bell with both fighters having bloody noses and covered with blood at the end of the first round. Judges Hale and Rylt;* dell decided in Sheppard’s favor while judge Cochran gava Bergerman the fight.
