Tomorrow evening at the Newark: Athletic Club will occur the first heavyweight glove contest that has taken place in this pari of Ohio in years. The two men who are to meet each other in the ring are Buck Johnson and Chas. Swede, who will each weigh between 3G5 and 170 pounds. Both are in excellent shape and are intent on securing the long end of the purse. A telephone message from Jack Bain, who is now training in Columbus for his bout with Barney Furey bere on the evening of the Oth of January, informed the Manager of the Athletic club that if desirable he (Bain) would like to referee the Johnson-Swede bout. His offer was accepted and he will therefore serve in that capacity. Tho Zanesville sports are deeply interested in the go tomorrow night and the Zanesville papers say that a large delegation will accompany Swerle when he arrives at 7 p. m. tomorrow evening. The prices of admission are 50 cents-to the gallery-and ยง1 to the lower floor. The door will open at S:la. and the preliminaries will be called about nine o'cock.
