The high school boys basketball team got off to a fast start on the weekend winning a B division tournament inBrandon.The Clippers defeated a team from Red Lake,Ont., in the final 69-49. CoachMcDougallLarrysaysDauphin started strongand was able to get an early lead on Red Lake. Dauphin was up by 16 points in the firstquarter.McDougall says the win should eive thegiveteam a lot of confidence.Dauphin got into the final by first beating Shilo 105-40. Briancentre,was the big scorer inthat game collecting 32points. Smith was alsonamed most valuableplayer.Next the Clippers beat a team from Portage in much closera mucn cioser game48-40. McDougall considers Portaee one ofthe toughest teams inB ^jiompeti-battleprovincial tion.
