Mauler Meets Old EnemyThey crossed paths again, this time n St. Paul, Minn., eight and a half years after they traded punches in a world's heavyweight championship battle in Shelby, Mont. The man on the right is the Old Manassa Mauler, of course, and the fat guy on the left is your old light heavyweight friend, Tommy Gibbons. Tommy gave Dempsey one of his hardest battles, one of the few in which Jack’s opponent stayed the limit of 15 rounds. Gibbons wished Jack success in hitmeback efforts and then squared off with him in this picture.
