Edgar McNabb's unbeaten champions of the Little Eight conference, the Raeeland Ramblers, led in the balloting for the official 1933 All-Little Eight Conference football team by placing four men on the first # team, three on the second team and gaining honorable mention for three others. Both teams were well matched but the Valley girls gave the Beaver lassies a tough fight. The game ended in a tie, 15-15. Craig led the point for Valley, while Wynn starred for Beaver. The boys game was hard fought with Beaverthitd in the standings, landed three men on the first team and one on the second team, while Morebead, ruunerup in the conference for the fourth straight year, got two places on the first team and one on the second, Grayson and Boyd county divided the other two first-team positions.Raeeland had the only two players who were unanimous choices at their positions. Audra Lewis, brilliant center, and Carl Adkins, fullback. They are named co-captains of the team.There were two other repeaters on the first all-conference team, Arthur Tatman, Morebead end, and Maynard Walker. Raeeland end, Roy Belcher, Fullerton's quarterback and Woodrow Fannin, left tackle, who made the first eleven played their first year in football. Andy Stephens, a guard, who also got a berth on the first string is a veteran, Earl Doddridge was selected as an end on the second squad. Ijeonard Farley, a halfback, Elijah Lowe, halfback, Burt Wilson, fullback, got honorable .mention. Thus all of Coach Chas. j Wilson’s backfield broke into the limelight. The McKell Bulldogs en- 1 joyed a successful football season and placed third in the first season in the Little Eight.
