IHigh School Notes.Whooping cough and the had weather have lessened the primary grades.Bernard Bradley, Gustave Risacher and Bernardine Ackerman were visitors in high school last week.Oakland City has a live teachers and parents’ orginization that meets at stated periods. The president of the orginization is a patron of the public school. At these meetings talks are made on the relation of parents pupils and teachers. In this way parents become acquainted with teachers, and teachers learn of the children's needs from the parents’ standpoint. How many times our school tangles wouldstraighten out if all parties concerned knew each other better.The fifty-sixth annual state teachers’ association will meet at Indianapolis, Tuesday Dee. 2Stli. It will continue in session Dec. 50th and 30th. Some of the foreign talent are Leslie M. Shaw, former secretary of thetreasury; Win. X. Clifford, of theUnited States forestry service, and John Gunekel of Toledo, Ohio. Last year Martin County had the best per cent of enrollment of any county in I the state. Supt. Armstrong is makingstrenuous efforts this year to maintain■4 the record.The basket ball team although defeated at Mitchell Saturday night, say they were nicely treated by Hie team there. O., Omer Dages, Sub.The high school literary and debating society meet Tuesday evening in the assembly room pf the high school. Besides the musical and literary program there was debate on the question of woman suffrage. Gertrude Force,1 Leona Tewell, and Belle Ellis argued for woman s right to cast a vote.
