MIDGET HOCKEYFAIRVIEW 4, PEACE R. 6The Midget Hockey Team of Peace River (15 years of age andunder as at January 1, 1939) went to Fairview last Saturday to playthe Midget team at that place, managed by Jack Carignan. A splendid game ensued, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. It wasfast from beginning to end, andaugurs well for the hockey players of the Peace River country in thefuture; every man on each team gave his best, and though the game was close yet there was no rough play, The two penalties given, one to each team, were quite accidental. The game was well handled with greatfairness by Fairview referees and umpires, though the Peace River bo^s were quite disturbed by the movable goal posts and nets. (Would it not be possible to have these fixed firmly in the ice?) The outstanding players onthe Fairview team weie Smith andCarignan, who turned in a swift and effective game, the former scoring three goals, and the latter one. All the Peace Riverlads turned in a good game, with Bachmeir scoring two, Sovereign two, Sutherland one, and Fortier one. The game ended with a score of 6-4 in favour of PeaceRiver.Great credit is due to JackCarignan for his supervision of these splendid boys at Fairview. A return game is being played at Peace River this coming Saturday, December 17th, at 1 p.m., and everyone is looking forward to another fine game.Fairview:—Smith, Carignan, the Walker brothers, McAuleiRichards, Oliver, McConnell, Laherty, Hemstock, Readman and Me Fad yen.Peace River:—Mcllroy, Suther-Iland, Trainor, Lawrence, Sovereign, Lamont, Mitchell, Fortier.
