tRUNT MARR NAMED PRESIDENT OF TWINSManager Succeed* Eddie Goostree lit Fort Smith—Tigers Purchase Interest in Club.Special to The Globe.Fort Smith, Ark., Dec. 15.—An-l nouncement of the elevation of Manager C. A. (Runt) Marr of the Fort Smith Twins to the position as president qf the club was made here tonight by the new prexy and confirmed in a letter received from Eddie Goostree, former president, Marr takes over the reins as chief executive of the Twins immediately, and Goostree will return to the De*troit Tigers as scout. At the same time, the club made known the fact that the Tigers have purchased an interest in the club with Marr and Goostree retaining holdings also.Marr came to the Twins as manager in 1924 and later went to Vicksburg in the Cotton States and Raleigh. He played part of one season with Chattanooga in the Southern League and came back here to lead Fort Smith to its first pennant! in 1927.Last season the Twins finished second in both halves of a split season and sold more players to leagues of higher classification than any other team in the Western Association.
