Robinson added another field goal before Newton came up with a steal and a bucket to cut the margin down to a mere point before the fireworks started.SIC had the chance to take the lead but the officials missed an obvious goal-tending call. Seconds later, Logan missed a slam dunk. Frankfort out-scored the Bullpups 32-17 in the middle two periods to account for the win.Greg Davis was the only playef for the 1-1 frosh who could break into twin figures as he led the scoring with 10.The jayvee team won 64-56 overBeasley scored with 40 seconds left and had a chance for a three-point play to tie the game but missed the free throw.SIC then ran off 34 seconds before calling a timeout with just six seconds remaining. Then with a second left, the Falcons threw the ball away. Logan took a timeout then returned to take the ball inbounds at midcourt but a lob pass down to the top of the circle was batted down by Robinson as the buzzer sounded.Robinson, who was deadly from the long range and about the only Falcon to play consistenUy for the entire 40 minutes, had 26 points and was the only SIC player in double figures.“It was just a matter of finding the right chemistry and that’s what Newton and Bratcher gave us,” Falcon coach Virgil Motsinger said.‘ 'They both came in and played heady ball and I think it did both Riley and Cotton good because they came back in fresh and ready to play.“This was a game of more finesse than power and once we adjusted to it, then we played exceptionally well in the second half,” Motsinger added.SIC goes to 1-1 in the conference and 8-2 overall. The Falcons will play at Olney Saturday. SIC will not be home again until hosting powerful Kaskaskia January 8.
