TTie Hawks enjoyed leads from time to time but their hosts continued topress, forcing Harper to commit errors, and eventually wearingthem out.In last Tuesday’s loss the Hawks, besides being pressed to death, were beaten by the torrid shooting of Sauk Valley’s Bill Harris. After getting just three points in the first half, Harris went berserk tallying 29 points to allow his team to pull away from the pesky Hawks.His exceptional total helped negate the fine balance of the Hawks — Lyle Kiszonas (17), Willy (16), Mellen (15), Druding(15). and Keehan (13).SAUK VALLEY (91)FG FT PF TPReed _____________- 0 0-0 0 0Smith ------- 7 0-1 1 MStlndt ....... 0 0-0 2 0Erickson ..---------- 6 5-6 2 17Megly _____________4 l-l 0 9Harris _______________13 6-8 0 32Ullrich ...... .. 11-1 2 3Austin ..._............... 7 2-3 3 1638 15-20 10 91HARPER (83) _FG FT PF TPMellen ................ 7 1-1 0 15Kereszturi ..........3 1-1 3 7Druding .............. 3 9-12 0 15Keehan ---------6 1-1 2 13Willy .................... 7 2- 3 3 16Kiszonas ......... 7 3- 4 4 17Bischoff .............. 0 0- 0 3 0Jt33 17-22 15 83Halftime score: Sauk Valley-34,Harper-32.Last Saturday afternoon Harper was beaten by 26 but the game had been much closer.
