Powers got the award.Carr vs McArthur.In the bout in the special 115-pound class between Eddie Carr of South Boston and Bern McArthur of Malden McArthur in the first round kept Carr guessing for a time. In the second round Carr had his man's measure taken and went to work skilfully, jabbing and cutting him down with well-timed leads. Carr got inside McArthur's leads nearly every time, and then sent left to face and right to short ribs.In n mixup in the third round Carr claimed foul for a low lead, but it not being allowed he bore in and drove McArthur to the ropes with corking body blows. During the next round Mack was very willing, but bis leads were poorly timed and Carr was Inside with stiff short-arm leads and counters. Carr went across nl the. sound of the gong in the fifth round and drove in eight leads with both hands, Mack taking a crouching position and smothering up to avoid punishment. McArthur swung his right around on the mark several times in this round, but, taking it as a whole, he was badly outpointed.The last rojmd was a repetition of the preceding ones, in which Carr outgeneraled and outboxed McArthur, end the former got Hie decision.Pantz vs Adams.The. third bout was between Kid Pantz of Boston and Frank Adams of Newton at 118 pounds. Pantz rushed ids man into his corner at the opening of the first round and drove a dozenleads home before lie was called off. Later in the round he repeated this in a neutral corner and just before the bell sounded the end of the round 1 antz drove Adams to the ropes w in a stiff right and followed this up with a running left. . . , ,Adams showed up well at intervals, but most of his blows were with open gloves and lacked steam. Pantz kept after bis man during the fifth round, scoring many times on the face and body, and although Adams was far from being done, he was easily outpointed.During the last round Adams showed to much better advantage, but his work was flashy, Pantz clearly outboxing him at all stages. Pantz eot the decision although the crowd did not relish the finding.Baldwin vs Ryan.Matty Baldwin of Charlestown andBilly Ryan of South Boston mot in thenext bout, a special at 122 pounds.
