Early Christmas Eve when everyone else is out doing last-minute Christmas shopping and helping stuff the Christmas turkey, there will be 21 girls doing a little more strenuouswork.Girls’ basketball coach ClytaYoung and assistant coach Kick Sherman having now divided the team into varsity and reserve teams, say the girls can use all the practice they can get in by their first game.The 12 girls on the varsity team this year are seniors Nancy Chess, Nyla Stats, Pam Moore, Rose Hayes, Mary Turner, Kathy Whitehair, Juniors Debbie Abies, Iaura Geyer, Paula Waddle, Marty Wilson; sophomore Teresa Bice and freshman Nancy Hutcheson.The 19 reserves are freshman Mary Lou Berry, Joy Cowden, Lori King, Leslie Maxwell, Resa Montgomery, Kelly Ross; sophomores Sherry Blackwood, Mary Bricker, Beverly Buchanan, Ionnie Crawford, Lougene Hillyer, Sherry Jones, Gayle Stanbery, Pam Worstall; juniors Chris Connell, and Jeri Ramsey.The schedule thus far is asfollows:Jan. 8, Crooksville, away.Jan. 12, Maysville, home.Jan. 15, Tri-Valley, away.Jan. 22, Philo, home.Jan. 29, New Lexington, away.Feb. 5, Maysville, away.Feb. 12, Crooksville, home.Feb. 15, New Lexington, home.Feb. 19, Tri-Valley, home.Feb. 26, Philo, away.
