Chinle gets second Basketball winOn Saturday. December 6th. The Chinle Wildcats hosted the Panthers' of Ganado Mission in their second game of the basketball season. Although,ganado Mission has very few boys/this year and has very little height, they camfc*to play basketball, battling the Wildcats to a 13-11 first quarter score. As the second quarter started, so did the defensive tactics of Terry Smith andx Tsosic Brown as they teamed up to steal the ball from the Panthers time and time again. Herman Attson also helped the two speedsters “swipe” the ball'•with Wayne Durand and Charlie Govcr in complete charge of the backboards. Gover and Durand,both over 6 foot did not have any problem rebounding as, they grabbed' a combined total of 30 rebounds for the game. The game was broken wide open in the second quarter as the Wildcats burned the nets for 33 points as opposed to 10 for the Mission Panthers. The score at the half-time was Chinle 46. Ganado 21.In the final period of play the Wildcat Starters again took to the hardwood floor and this time really burned the nets as the final score .read Chinle 00 and Ganado Mission 29. High Scorer for Ganado Mission was Brad Jenkins with 8 points.Individual scoring for the Wildcats were as follows: Wayne Durand with 35, Charlie Gover with 17, Tsosie Brown with 13, Terry Smith with* 10. Herman Attson # Benson Davis with 4, Walter Gorman Cecil Jones with 3 and Anthony Dcdman with 1.The Wildcats will be going up against Kirtland at Chinle this Friday Dec. 12th.
