(Sp.)“Nicki Courtney of Duncanville scored the winning goal when, the Berry College women’s soccer ream captured the NAIA notional title with a 1-0 victory over Erskine College.The match was played Saturday, Nov. I.This was only the second year of existence for the Berry soccer team, which had finished as runner-up ro St. Mary’s College of California a year earlier.Courtney, a freshman fullback, scored the winning , goal with 31:34 elapsed in the first half. It came off a cornerkick by another Derry freshman, Kelly Brocn. Courtney managed to control the ball, dribble left and shoot back in the opposite direction.Berry had made the finals bv defeating Hardin-Sin-mons University of Abilene, Tex., 2-0. Erskine won its SemifinalNlcki Courtney match over Puget Sound University of Washington, 2-CouiCnev, daughter of Mr, Anri Mrs. Perry i. Courtney, is a transfer from Dallas Baptist University.
