Page 18 The Daily Jeffersonian Thurs., Pec. 10. 1370Cambrid**, OntoCrawford, Eyen ScBy GLENN McCASLAND Jeff Sports EditorCambridge's “Mr- Everything'* today was named to the 1970 United Press International's All-Ohio football team as a defensive comerback.Leonard Crawford w a s selected as one of the state's top 22 athletes who participated in football and joined the “elite of Cambridge and Guernsey County’s athletic stars of the past and present.The little 150-pound halfback, who amassed over 1,104 yards on the ground, scored 70 points and caught passes for morethan 290 yards in 10 games, was named to the first team defensive club because of his ability to play both directions and ex ceptiona! talent in reading a play and going for the ball carrier.And adding icing to the All-Ohio cake was the selection of junior back Steve Eyen as an honorable mention squad member of the Class AAA team.Eyen was picked for his excellent strong safety work during the past season and ability to shift from safety to quarterback, halfback and other positions on the field.The addition of Eyen as anA*.'honorable mention all-state selection gives the Bobcats two outstanding players out of an estimated 41,000 youths vs ho play football in the state.And Even's honor also pro vides something for which the young man can shoot for improvement next season with theBobcats.“That's wonderful, Coach Joe Paul remarked when told of the double selection “Steve is a fine young man and one of our better athletes.
