Dorman andRalston leadPortvillePORTVILLE, N Y. - Displaying a powerhouse second half attack during which time they came up with 50 points to the opponents 40 and the sensational shooting of Paul Dorman and Scott Ralston both from the field and the charity line set the stage here Friday night for Portville Central’s 71-63 win over Smethport AreaHigh School.The opening half was nip and tuck with neither team able to generate any kind of an offensive attack. It was more or lessa good defensive battle withboth clubs working the ball welland trying to get an open shot.The first period found the two clubs all event at 10-10 and in the second quarter the Hubbers pulled ahead by two, 23-21 with a 13-11 score. The second half both clubs coming onto the floor very sharp and hitting with regularity with the big boy for the Panthers being Scott Ralston who had six baskets of ninefield attempts. Overall Ralston finished with 17 points picking up seven goals and three free throws. Dorman was the big man though as he collected 33 . ints on 12 buckets, hitting 12 buckets in 30 shots and adding nine free throws.For the losing Hubbers John Hendrickson had 20 points on10 successes from the field while Bob Maynard had 18 points. Mistakes hindered theHubbers who had 21 turnovers to th* Panthers 15.
