Sentinels Drop 50-49 Decision In HagerstownT* ISecond Period Slump Costs Fort Hill Game; Kuhn, McGregor StarHAGERSTOWN. Dec. ft — Coach Mel Henry’s Hagerstown High School cagers drew first blood in their two-game basketball series W’ith Fort Hill High of Cumberland by defeating the Sentinels in the latter’s opening game here tonight by the score of 50-49.A weak second quarter cost Fort Hill the ball game as the Cumber-landers were limited to one field goal and three free throws in that stanza after holding a 15-14 advantage at the end of the first period. George McGregor’s foul goal gave the Sentinels a 16-14 edge as the second period opened but Dick Mclzer’s basket tied it up at 16-all, A fielder by Dave Kuhn broke the tie and Hagerstown was never headed thereafter. ’ The Hubs held the long end of a 1 30-20 score at the halfway mark I and were out in front 41-34 when , the third quarter closed.Fort Hill was outpointed 16 to 51 In the tell-tale second quarter ( Weber scored a field goal while i McGregor.
