wr • •refs MarqueeA 2-year project by the Parent-Teacher Association at Duncanville High School was completed Friday with the erection of a marquee in front of the school on Camp Wisdom Road. The marquee, which cost more than $1,300, received^ a substantial boost with a $500 donation from the Presidents Council this year. The project was startedduring the 1971-72 school year under the direction of President Ed Sullivan. This year’s president, Mary Thach, reported that last spring’s receipts from a musical variety show, Rhythm '72 produced most of the PTSA’s money for the project. Receipts from next spring’s Rhythm '73 are expected to raise enough money to make final payment. This marquee will be for use of the high school students only, said Mrs. Thach. It is theirs to be used in advertising school affairs such as music and athletic events, etc.She indicated one reason the PTSA had in purchasing the marquee was because the load on the downtown marquee is getting so heavy thatsome events cannot be advertised.
