The left handed jump shooting of Charles Tawzer from just outside the key and the errific defense and rebounding of big Carl Sorman were the difference here Friday night as the Bonneville Bees rapped the Idaho Falls Tigers, 41-33.Tawzer accounted foe 14 of the Bee points, while Sorman controlled the defensive backboards for the Bees and stuffed most field goal attempts made near him.It was a case of first-game jitters for both clubs in the opening half of the game, first to be played in the spanking new Bonnpville gym. with the score ending 20-12 for the Bees. After the opening of the second half, the Tigers moved to within three points when Kent Whitney and Lou Campbell hit, but the Bees immediately took charge again on a field goal by Tawzer and another by Lynn Sargent, and the Tigers could never catch up.Idaho Falls hit a miserable percentage of their shots from the field, and at one time in the second half had connected only once in 10 tries.Bonneville effectively kept the Tigers from clear shots from the top of key, and the Orange and Black had difficulty breaking around Bee defenders. The Bonneville Junior Varsity also edged the Idaho Falls juniors in a 67-65 thriller. The box score:Bonneville Idaho lullsWestergard 1 f Hart 31Bonneville substitutes: Stormel, Sargent 5, Johnson 2, Thomason, Heuer, Davis.
