Y Men’s League Gets Under Way; PistolTeam Loses at SidneyThe Y pistol team, dropped a 911 to 836 match last night to the Keith Clark team of Sidney at Sidney. A1 Mayer lead the Y men with a 236. Paul Steward had 222, Frank Rooney 191, and Bill Barr 187. iHigh man in the match was Jim Potter with a 242 followed closely by teammate Harold Fife at 240.This match terminated the first half of the season, the second half starting February 8.The YMCA swimming team will journey to Cortland tomorrow to battle the Cortland YMCA team.The men’s basketball league got under way last night with Malady’s Spartans defeating Simm’s Boys, 66-59 and Doyle’s Dippers dumped the Faculty Five, 58-35.John Malady was high man for the evening with 20 points followed by Ray Figary’s 19 and Dick North’s 18.Action next week pits Western Electric against Malady’s Spartans, and Doyle’s Dippers battling Simm’s Boys.
