LEVINSKEY MISKE AND GIBBONSARE U6HT-HEAVYWEI6HT KMfiS(ByiH. C. Hamtlt«—rited Staff Correspondent)New York* Dec. 7.—Tike beatific Jack Dillon recently took so gamely from Billy Miske, has. Ill the opinion of most every ring follower, eliminated Jucques positively as a dans^erotta factor In the struggle for lightheavyweight supremacy. The conclusion now lies between Battling irtvmakey, Jewish scrapper, Billy Miske, and Tom Gibbons. And, Without a shadow of doubt, this triumvirate of battlers personifies the greatest in the ranks of the hard fighting class that has done so much to keep boxing in a moving state the last few years. Each of these youths lays a sort of desultory claim to the light heavyweight crown. 'When Dillon was in his prime their claims amounted to little, for Dillon went regularly about a business of knocking off all ambitious contenders. Then Miske came to the fore by trouncing Battling Levinsky, and later on whipping Jack Dillon. And the Gibbons topped it by polishing off Levin^key. j ‘ The latter bout w^s a no decision affair, in which both boxers stoodoff and jabbed through ten rfcuuds at each other. Gibbons has amassed some of the wisdom and boxing ability of his more famous brother and was able, by this means, to take a popular decision over Dan Morgan's battler. But, Iiovinskey iheu carno back and won a decision from Miske In Boston, so, by all the rules of the game, he is entitled to most consideration as holder of the crown. It is too bad promoters are overlooking this most excellent chance to stage a series of great bouts, for, with Gibbons, Bevinskey and Mipfce vising for a title that would be undisputed the fight public would have all It could attend to.1 There is no favoritism for any one • of the three. Each is an excellent | boxer, well qualified to take care of himself. In Gibbons, and fjcviu-skey there is exemplified a science that amounts to marvelous some times. Miske Isn't that sort of a scrapper, although he is somethingof a boxer. He is more of the mauling type. The winner of a tournament of this sort would be well qualified to take up the crown tossed off by Dillon.HeIKByJoScfowi at thhaind€jdcbt fo th diri:erhea*fiiDclfu
