Towering Tommy Burleson and Morris Rivers contributed 14 each, with Burleson also getting 13 rebounds.A crowd of 11,700 watched in Reynolds Coliseum as East Carolina grabbed a six point lead in the first half 17-11. The Wolfpack raced back and wasout front 38-31 at the half.Rivers sparked the second half rally with 10 points and six steals. The Wolfpack made numerous steals in the last half as it outscored the Pirates 41-16.*Reggie Lee topped the scoring for the Pirates with 14 points.
