Kansas Wesleyan's basketball team will attempt to snap a 31-game Kansas conference losing streak at 7:30 pm Wednesday when the Coyotes take on the Friends Falcons at Sacred Heart gymnasium.The Wesleyan KCAC losing skein extends back to 1971 when the Coyotes won their last conference contest, a 94-90 overtime decision over the same Friends Falcons. Wesleyan went 0-16 in the KCAC last year.Wesleyan goes into conference action with a 1-3 overall record. After going 1-i in the Kansas Wesleyan Classic* the Coyotes dropped 2 straight decisions to non-confer-encc foes College of Emporia and Nebraska Wesleyan.Clyde Murrell hoids the Wesleyan scoring lead after 4 games with 59 points, a 14.8 per game average. Charles Green is close behind with 57 points.Green also holds the rebound lead with 30, an average of 7.5 rebounds per opting. Gary Jessamy, a senior, leads in assists with 11, white Murrell tops the team in defensive points.The Coyotes will have a tough time breaking the streak against the Falcons. Greg Hammond led the Falcons with 20 points.Friends should have a slight height advantage. Guards will be Jessamy, 6-foot senior, and Tracy Rietzke. 6-1 sophomore; forwards Kirk Foster. 6-3 sophomore, and Green, 6-2 junior, and probably George Cryer; 6-4 junior, at the post. Regular center Dave Hunt has left the ball club.
