Western Ark Valley Opens Next Fridayr1Lakin—The fast. Western Arkansas Valley League, which maintains high standards of Class B basketball In the far west reaches of Kansas, will open league activity, Dec. 10.Lakin. tor a number of years, has turned out a majority ofchampionship teams in the circuit, but several other teams including Ulysses, Deerfield, Holcomb and Syracuse, appear to have exceptionally bright prospects this year.Coach Roy D. Gish will be starting* his first year as head coach at Ulysses. He is building his team ivith veterans, having one man who has earned three Sellers, two who have earned two letters and Jive who have earned, one letter.The Western Ark .
