Hewitt, 74, mother of Foster Hewitt, well-known N H L. hockey broadcaster, was instantly killed near Scranton, Pa, when the car driven by herson-in-law, C. A Massey, skidded on a “greasy cune and collided with another car. Foster Hewitt, informed of the fatality just before he went on the air to broadcast the Chicago-Toronto game, decided to go on with his hockey broadcast and telecast as usual Central Press Canadian.
