This wan dim itgeiy to 'ho root that before Manager Stewart allowed his playersto outer the contest, an agreement was made whereby sever ti of the Massillon players were -een with ’he Canton line-up, and vie, versa several Canton players vjfh the Tigers The following was the line-up Canton—Rice, ofon, center; 3weet, left half-Ernst, right halfback; Thorpe, fullback. Left Tackle Robison of Massillon, right tackle, Moran of Massillon, left guard, Sheldon, right guard; Steinberg. left, end, Kirckhoffe, right end; Cure, quarterback and CaptainRiley.Massillon--Parratt, center; LeftHalf Farabaugh of Canton, right half; Kirii, full back; N’esser, left tackle; Heimburger, right guard; McAllister, left guard, Riley, right guard, Sutter left end, Haag, right end, Shiring quarterback; and captain, Maxwell. CoachStewart, of Massillon, acted as referee, while Manager Williams acted a sum pire. Timekeepers were McLian and Whitman. Will Strang acted as head linesman, while it was hard to tell who the other officials really were, us there was a crowd constantly overrunning ihe field while the players were in action. The game ended in n tie, the final score being 5 and 5, each side having scored a touchdown. Rice accomplished the trick for Canton, while King carried the ball over the line for Massillon Neither side, however, made any attempt to kick goal. The game was featureless in fact, no attempt. was made to keep a correct j score as the players themselves paid y little attention to the regular football ! ,U)f] rules It is plainly evident that the crowd was disappointed in not seeing at least some attempt imide by tlie players to pull off a play or two that might have been worthy of some note. The only signals list'd, was the number *lt;23/* This number, very appropriatefor the occasion, was used bv both•Bidet*. Kt*ff»n*c* Stewart used a revolver instead of a whistle and wore a large hat which some mean fan from Massillon had the uudaeit to say was the same one that Mayor Franr/ woreduflng his campaign when he defeated Coach Stewart for mayor of Massillon, last fall. If is supposed that enough was derived from the game for each player to purchase a railroad ticket to liis home with a glad remembrance that after he returns there he was a lucky man that he did not have toyoofhabo4wist apm dai da’ the hoj t hawliHustleHit!shoCanoUuI wer toncomdencagtMerdy lt;YouA1 t heto v andwalkFOR THE PLAYERSout J]outonlydo ibestcageCatMeHilllt; ’a rMeeting to Raise Money—They Express Thanks.
