Fairview Won FirstHockey GameOf The SeasonLast Thursday’s hockey game, between Fairview and Peace River, which opened the hockey season in this part, ended in a victory for the visitors but only bythe small score of 1 to 0. Both teams did excellent work especially when it is considered that most of the players were on the ice for only the second or third time of the season. To all the fans the game indicated that both towns have real hockey material this year and we may look forward to some of the best exhibitions of the game ever witnessed here.The winning goal was made about the middle of the first period by Reidman, of Fairiew, during a skirmish in the front of the Peace River net. The score was made legitimately, but it was the result of a close shot in a general mix-up of players that any goalie could easily be excused for letting it pass him. Both goal men did good work, but especially the Fairview man who is considered to be the best man in the league playing this position. He was subjected to a regular barrage at times but was equal to every occasion.
