Larson, Graeco-Roman, two in. three falls. Benson won the first fall In fourteen minutes, and the next two, were easily ■ Larson's in seven and nine minutes respectively. At the close of tho match Benson challenged Larson to another go and the defl was accepted.Tn the fistic events Jack Burke, the former famous pugilist, acted as ' referee. The first event was a six round go between Charles Connors, of Chicago, and Walter Stage, of Belvidero. Both men showed up well and at the end of the contest it was declared a draw.Young Griffo and Ullrich had boon slated for tho second bout, but when Griffo learned who he was to meet lie declined, on account of not being in condition and Miller was substituted for Ullrich. There were four rounds to this with no decision. It was a good exhibition of scientific sparring. The tnird of the fights was botween “Shine” Reed, of Freeport, and E. Ferguson, of Rockford. Ferguson was knocked around like a rag baby j for a time and then given a punch that sent him through tho ropes. He took a count of nine, and was then assisted to, his place. Reed handed him a couple more solid ones and the colored lad went down and waited for the count of ten, and then jib soon as the referee had called him out, ho straightened up and walked out of tho ring, while tho audience saw a fetreak of “yellow” in him.Grilfo ami Ullrich were matched for a go, which is to bo pulled off in three weoks. Burke, who is managing Grilfo, will put his mail in shape and a fast bout is oxpocted. Burke anil Grilfo will go to Rockford tomorrow, and it is understood they will establish training quarters there.
