The amateurs were a strong team, but in the opening half the Spurs by superior combination had the best of the argument. Several times they were within an ace of scoring. and Driffield was given plenty of work in goal. Nearing half time, however. a mi*Kiek by Ereuts let up the Corinthian forwards, anti Snell, getting possession, beat Clawley. and the amateurs at half-time led by a goal to none. The pace did not slacken in the second portion, and barely a couple of minutes had elapsed when Brown equalised, whilst fifteen minutes from the close Cameron beat Driffield, and. nothing further being registered.
