3ENEFIT GAME SUNDAY.To the Citizens of Canton:The members of the gaiiant football team, which has defended the Red and White are short in their salary to the amount of $2965.The reason for this it s unnecessary to detail here. Many of tne boys have left profitable positions to come to Canton, risking life and limb in earnest effort to wrest glory from gallant foes. It is through no fault of theirs that this deficiency is to be faced. The Massillon Tigers will meet Canton at the Lake grounds Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock.Thi8 is not in the champoinshipseries: it is a game between theplayers: a benefit game for theCanton boys. The Massillon braves oonate their services for the afternoon. Every Canton player not prevented by injuries, will be in the Canton line-up.This is really a notable example of chivalry on the part of theTigers and the Canton pubrioshould show their appreciation. The entire receipts will be divided pro-rata among the Canton players. The committee will have charge of the division of funds. Admission will be 50 cents. Reserved seats, 50 cents extra.Kick-off promptly at 2 o’clock. For the day, ‘•Cupid Maxwell will be captain of the Tigers and Tom Riey will be captain of the Bulldogs. It's up to Canton to show the boys we appreciate their ser-vices and to keep them from leaving the city without being honorably paid every cent due them. Will Canton be less loyal to their team than Massillon to “The Tigers?”Kick-off at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon.iEXECUTIVE COMMITTEE.
