Jets Close IL Gap To Three As They Take Fourth StraightBy United Press InternationalThe Syracuse Chiefs are starting to look over their shoulders, And small wonder—the Columbus Jets have narrowed the Chiefs’ International League lead to three games.Sunday, the Jets, behind veteran Dennis Ribant and three other relievers, defeated Louisville, 7-4 for their fourth win in a row while the Chiefs were losing their fourth straight to the Tidewater Tides, 5-4, in 11 innings.A three-run outburst in the bottom of the 11th by Tidewater after the Chiefs had apparently wrapped up the victory with two runs in the top of the inning added to the leaguelead-er’s woes.Columbus erupted for five in the fifth inning and coasted to the win over the Colonels.The Rochester Red Wings and the Richmond Braves split a twin bill. Richmond captured ' the first game, 3-2, despite the four-hit pitching of Fred Beene. The Red Wings came back in the nightcap as Dick Baney and Ed Maras combined to check the Braves, 6-3. 2In the only other action, Winnipeg outslugged Toledo, 13 to 9, in a game that featured 29 hits.
