Kung-FuIndian Kim CommunityCollege will sponsor a course in the Chinese art of Kung Fu, beginning August 23rd from 8:00 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. al the Main Campus in Fori Pierce.The .nslructor for ihe course, Jim Wilson, is half-Japanese, and has sludled both Japanese and Okinawan karale, holding a black belt fn bo(h Chi Lin Kung Fu and Pai Lum Kung Fu. Wilson has eight years of experience in the Chinese art and is the South Florida represent a live of lt;he Republic of China’s Xou Shu Federalion.The course will cover such Chinese metlimis as self-defense, exercise and philosophy. “Kung FiJ’h literally translated, means “lo bean expert, or proficient”, The course will also teach the methods of applying lucking and striking techniques into a dance-like form, a tradition of the Chinese art which is still preserved today.A registration fee of $9.00 will be charged and further information may be obtained by calling the Guidance Department at the College at 464-2000.
